Dreaming of Summer

Summer’s just around the corner – when the days are longer, camping is bound to be on the agenda and the carnival comes to town.  Here are some images that remind me of summer.  Hope they put a smile on your face!

Oh, and more good news… There’s a sale on in my Etsy shop and you can enter a giveaway to win prints here.

norah - You have surely captured Summer. The first photo of the swimming pool makes me want to dive in. Thanks for sharing these. Your work is very special.

admin - Thanks Norah! And thank you for the feature on your lovely blog!

Wine Country: In the Napa Valley – Yountville

Strolling through Yountville, a quaint town in the Napa Valley a few weeks past, we stopped for a special lunch with family at Bottega.  It was our first visit to this restaurant – we found an inviting atmosphere and wonderful cuisine.  Try the Crispy Potato Gnocchi and then do yourself a favor and order an espresso and Zeppole al Lemoni – cooked to order Italian donuts with sides of Meyer lemon curd and berry Earl Grey conserva for dipping.

kaela - Beautiful photos Mel! I’m adding those Zeppole to my must-try list… yumm! I’m glad your blog is up!

San Francisco Scenes: Fisherman’s Wharf

Some recent shots from a stroll along San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf area.  Some of my favorite stops along the way:

* Musee Mecanique – a wonderful collection of vintage coin-operated mechanical musical instruments and antique arcade machines in their original working condition. They even have Laffing Sal!

* San Francisco Maritime Vessels (National Park Service) – We toured four maritime vessels for $10!  These historic vessels are worth checking out if you get a chance.

* Pier 39 – Although there were far fewer sea lions than in past years, it was entertaining to watch them!  You can also stop and ride the carousel…

Sunday Daydreaming

Woke up this morning wishing I was sitting at La Terrasse in the 7th – getting ready for another magical stroll through the City of Light. Sipping a cafe creme, tearing away at one of those flaky, perfect croissants and people watching through the large glass windows. I am forever grateful to my friend, Kelly, for getting us acquainted with this beautiful city. For now, our recent fall trip to Paris will be recalled in daydreams, smiles, anecdotes and of course – photographs.  But, I hear Paris is lovely in the springtime… Yes?

Felicia - Your pictures take me away to the wonderful cafes, baguettes and of course the butter of the beautiful and tasteful France! Great emotional connection in your images. I’ll go any time of year 🙂
